Sweet Hannah

This is our daughter Hannah. She is spunky and full of life! Her smile and energy make me thankful everyday that God gave her to us, as it was a long and windy road to motherhood. Of anyone in my life, Hannah has taught me the most about God’s love, and specifically God’s love for me. I often think about how much I love Hannah and God reminds me that He loves her even more than I do.

The truth is: God’s love for all of us is unimaginable! He cares for us even more than we love those most cherished in our lives. Maybe you need to be reminded of God’s love and how He tenderly watches over you like His own child.

Come away with us on Saturday, October 15th, 2016 to our Creative Gathering to be refreshed in God’s love for you. The Creative Gathering begins at 9:30 and goes to 4:30. We serve you a cozy Fall inspired lunch and afternoon snack. Register HERE  online or sign up at our made. table at First Presbyterian Church on Sunday mornings.

Inner Beauty

Standard

dsc_0135

I  bent down to pick it up. It was small, and, at first glance, it didn’t appear to be anything special. It had just been discarded by a woman walking with a child on the beach not far ahead of me. I heard her tell the child that it was not very pretty and not worth keeping. When I picked the shell up and looked at the outside I saw that the woman was right – the outside was, indeed, not very beautiful. But when I turned it over it nearly took my breath away. For on the inside I saw a delicate, gentle beauty. Soft shades of coral and peach. Such beauty. Inner beauty. As I held the shell on my open palm and marveled at what God had created I was reminded that the LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart (I Samuel 16:7).

At our creative gatherings we encourage women to cultivate this inner beauty, their hearts, through creative projects, journaling, prayer, and music. On Saturday, October 15, 2016 we will be gathering to explore what it means to be God’s beloved. We hope you will join us!

To register, click here, or come to the sign-up table in Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings at First Presbyterian Church, Tacoma.

It was time, time to head outta town.

We needed to getaway to focus, plan, and dream. The Creative Team at made. headed out to a quaint little village called Leavenworth,  in the beautiful Cascades of the Pacific Northwest. Our purpose was to spend time together encouraging, praying and planning our next amazing fall gathering.

We arrived at our destination and to our surprise and delight, our cabins were right on the Wenatchee  River.32b21632-a942-447f-bfa1-cd2da1f5d6f6

Growing

Standard

Growth often comes in the form of stepping into something new, like stepping though a doorway. Do we take a chance and open the door? Do we take a chance and lean into the growth? My answer is yes!

We are growing here at made. just a bit. I can honestly say, that what is through the doorway is beautiful and full of promise. I am talking about bringing others onto the Creative Team.  These lovely new faces bring new skills, fresh eyes and wonderful ideas. I am really looking forward to this coming year! It is going to be the best year yet! Be on the look out for our upcoming Creative Gathering happening this Fall!

Something to Think About

The Dark and Light of Fall

The light of change and our hope

The light of change and our hope

As I look out my window, I see a glorious fall day, and I am uplifted by this beauty.  Two or three months from now, I will be slogging through the wet darkness we call Puget Sound winter, and I will miss the vibrancy of today.  Yet God has shown me that He works in both sunlight and darkness.  That is our amazing hope.
This fall our creative work in made. focuses on the contrast between light and darkness, pain and joy–and how God produces beauty by using both. Our own artistry does the same when we follow Him.  Join us as we explore our stories together at our next gathering on October 17.  Register now HERE!~ Connie

Fall is here!

The Changing of the Leaves

          The Changing of the Leaves

Fall is here! My favorite time of year. The leaves are changing, and you can feel the chill in the air. Thick sweaters and boots, get ready! As I say goodbye to summer 2015, I take a moment to look back. Writing in my journal helps me with this. I can turn back the page to re-visit summer. I’m grateful for a summer filled with family and friends. I so want to say it was entirely wonderful, but I can’t, as I re-read the painful moments I experienced while visiting family. I’m also aware of how God was with me and how He stretched me. What does He have planned for me this fall?

What are your plans for fall? Won’t you join us at our Fall Gathering?

~Terri
